OCI Service directly through CGI, New York
Subject: OCI Service directly through CGI, New York
The Consulate General of India, New York will be accepting New OCI applications and OCI Renewal applications directly at the Consulate in view of the lockdown Covid-19 pandemic and movement restrictions in several States. PLEASE NOTE: All applications/documents will be received and dispatched by postal method only. No facility for walk-in is available.
2. Presently, OCI Cards are under suspension, however, applicants requiring New OCI or Renewal of OCI can apply through Postal mail directly at Consulate General of India, New York. The applicants have to fill form available at Government of India Website https://ociservices.gov.in/ and send the completed application along with supporting documents, and fees by postal mail to OCI Section, Consulate General of India, 3 East, 64th Street, NY-10065 along with return prepaid envelope for further processing. The documents to be attached with OCI applications can be accessed at https://www.indiainnewyork.gov.in/OCIDoc
3. New OCI application has to be accompanied by Surrender/Renunciation Certificate, wherever it is necessary. Surrender/Renunciation can be applied at https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html. The Parental Authorization For Minor Applicants (wherever applicable) can be downloaded here (click here) which needs to be submitted with OCI application of Minor applicant.
